Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux builds bridges for actors in culture, art and science.
As part of the Brussels Cinema Days, a screening of the film The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (orig. title Hymyilevä mies) will be held at BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts on Sunday December 4 at. The film, directed by Juho Kuosmanen, is a 2016 drama film that earlier this year won the prize ‘Un Certain Regard’ at the Cannes Film Festival. It was selected as the Finnish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.
Finnish composer Sebastian Fagerlund begins his work as composer in residence at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, one of the world’s most illustrious concert halls. During his residency, which includes December 2016 and the months of May and June 2017, Fagerlund will reside in Amsterdam. As part of the residency, he will compose two new commissioned works that will premiere at The Concertgebouw in the autumn of 2017 and the spring of 2018.
