Carita Savolainen’s exhibition at the Embassy of Finland
In December, to celebrate Finland’s 100 years of independence, the Finnish embassy in Brussels will host Finnish artist Carita Savolainen’s project Passing on Looks. The project aims at suggesting a status report on a situation, and account for the way the perception of Finland has evolved in another European culture, that of Belgium; and reversely on the way Finland’s image of a foreign culture, the Belgian one, has changed. The project seeks to link image and text, as well as sound and movement, to enable a variety of perceptions.
